This article is written to provide you with practical steps to live better every day! This advice will be helpful no matter who you are or what your circumstances are. These tips are powerful ways to change and improve your mindset and your life. They will help you feel more positive, successful and resilient through challenges.
So sit back, relax and read!
1. Wake up early where possible.
When you wake up early, you have a longer day ahead of you.
This actually refreshes you and makes you prepared to make the most out of your morning.
You can relax while having breakfast and reflect on what you want to get done for the day. You also have more time to clean up if you mess it up, than if you are scrambling to get out of bed at 11am.
The later you wake up, the more unprepared you tend to be for the rest of the day and this often makes you wake up with a bad mood.
2. Think positive.
What is positive thinking? Positive thinking is to expect or hope for good out of a situation rather than worrying or being doubtful.
Positive thinking has done wonders for the world.
Positive thinking is what has helped humans to learn how to fly through the invention of airplanes, to successfully build enormous structures, to advance in science, theory and various types of knowledge, among many other human successes. Without positive thinking, there would be no progress in civilisation. Positive thinking, one could go so far as to say, is the principal determinant between success and failure. A positive thinker looks over challenges and looks through them. Negative thinking does the opposite - obstacles, which are a part of life, can leave a person stuck and discouraged and unable to carry on.
Positive thinking can be developed and is simply a change of habit. It is a matter of reprogramming your mind to be positive and hopeful, rather than negative and cynical. This requires you to notice your thought patterns and flip them consciously in a positive direction instead.
Positive thinking is necessary to motivate you to achieve challenging goals and attain greatness in life. It also contributes to contentment overall. Switching your self-talk from positive to negative is a powerful step you can start taking immediately!
3. Learn.
What greater joy in life is there than of learning and growing as a person? Who doesn't enjoy learning new things, whether it is about food, or health, or any skill or hobby?
Be sure to be actively learning to live a more satisfied and happy life.
When you learn, you develop skills that benefit you and your circumstances. You learn critical thinking, problem-solving and perseverance. You have better relationships and you gain greater awareness about how things work, making you more curious and interested in life. This makes life more satisfying and fulfilling for you.
You become a more interesting person as well, that people will enjoy being around, and positive responses and relationships with people will make your life more fulfilling as well.
4. Be conscious of your health.
Do not ignore your body, or you will take it to the point of no return.
Make sure you are conscious of your eating and calorie-burning activities regularly.
If you have not been, start now. It's better late than never!
Try to eat less, walk more and set small goals for yourself to accomplish. You want to look in the mirror and be as happy as possible at what you see looking back at you.
Healthy eating affects the mind and the body in so many ways! You want to have nice skin, a good weight and more energy to function.
So for the sake of your well-being for now and the long run, be very conscious of how you take care of your health. You will also impact those around you in a positive way with your healthier habits.
5. Take time out for self-care.
Adding on to the previous point, take time out for taking care of yourself everyday. You need to love yourself and value yourself to live a better life.
Dress nicely, put on some makeup, even take some photos looking awesome! Looking good will help you to feel good about yourself and more positive about your life and body.
You can boost your own self-esteem at home and validate yourself without needing to seek it out elsewhere. Remember that self-care leads to self-love, which will equate to more happiness and contentment for you on a regular basis.
Don’t forget to treat yourself with nice things from time to time either!
6. Expect less from others.
Expectations can destroy you emotionally when they are not met and disappointment settles in.
In order to avoid this awful type of heartbreak, make sure to not expect too much from others in the first place.
Have some boundaries in place and never love any human too much.
Unfortunately, being overly attached to another individual brings about expectations that are not grounded in reality, and you will be setting yourself up for disappointment when the person cannot meet them.
When you give a lot, you have a natural tendency to expect a lot in return. But every human has a maximum capacity for reciprocation and no one will be able to do it perfectly or sufficiently for your expectations. So for this reason, do not give with hopes of getting something in return, whether it is monetary or emotional.
Limit how much you give or you may fall into this. If you think you are the type of person to be sensitive to others’ reactions or treatment towards you, make sure to set healthy boundaries and take steps back until you can grow enough as a person and take a healthier approach to relationships.
7. Don't be cheap with your money if you can afford to spend.
Spend out of what you have been blessed with, if you are able to.
Your money is there to be used, not stored forever in the bank until you die.
You don't want to leave this world having deprived yourself of nice things it had to offer and good food.
Not saying you should be extravagant, but do not be overly hard on yourself when you do not need to be! One day when you are old, you may not be able to enjoy the same things you could have when you were younger, such as certain kinds of food, travelling, going places with friends and family, etc, so make sure that you're not setting yourself up for regrets someday.
It's okay to reward yourself with nice things sometimes, just make sure to keep a healthy budget according to your income. The simple pleasures that can be bought with money can also bring satisfaction to a person’s life.
