How to Make a Matcha Latte with a Handheld Frother

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp high-quality matcha powder

  • 2 oz hot water (not boiling!)

  • 6–8 oz of your milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)

  • Sweetener (optional): honey, maple syrup, stevia, etc.

🥄 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Sift the matcha

    • Add 1 tsp of matcha powder to a mug or bowl through a fine mesh sieve. This removes clumps and ensures a smoother blend.

  2. Add hot water

    • Pour about 2 oz (¼ cup) of hot water (not boiling!) into the mug. Ideal temperature is around 70–80°C (158–176°F).

  3. Whisk with your frother

    • Use your electric handheld frother to whisk the matcha and water into a smooth, vibrant green paste. This step is key to preventing bitterness and ensuring no lumps.

  4. Froth your milk

    • Heat your milk (on the stove or microwave). Then use your frother again to foam it—move the frother up and down to build a creamy layer.

  5. Combine & sweeten

    • Pour your frothed milk into the matcha mixture. Stir gently. Add sweetener if desired.

  6. Enjoy hot or iced

    • For iced: pour the latte over a glass of ice. For hot: sip slowly and savor!
